KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 18): Telekom Malaysia Bhd (KL:TM), via its enterprise and government solutions arm TM One, has signed a memorandum of collaboration (MOC) with NCT Group of Companies to expand smart industrial park solutions across Malaysia.
According to a press release Thursday, the move builds on the parties’ 2022 collaboration for the NCT Smart Industrial Park (NSIP) in Selangor. The expanded partnership will see TM delivering connectivity, smart solutions, cloud and ICT services to support the digitalisation of NCT Group’s operations and developments. This includes NCT Innosphere within the Delapan Special Border Economic Zone in Kedah and the group’s corporate headquarters.
TM and NCT will also co-develop go-to-market strategies to position the smart industrial parks as investment hubs for global and domestic industries.
The MOC was formalised at Smart City Expo Kuala Lumpur 2025 between NCT Group general manager of sales and marketing Simon Chan and TM One vice-president for enterprise business Megawati Norhashim. It was witnessed by NCT Group founder and group managing director Datuk Seri Yap Ngan Choy, TM board members Datuk Bazlan Osman and Tunku Alina Raja Muhd Alias, as well as TM group CEO Amar Huzaimi Md Deris.
“This partnership reflects TM’s role not just as a connectivity provider, but as the enabler of smart industrial ecosystems,” said Amar. “With our Vision AI, Intelligent Operations Centre, intelligent building management systems and other smart solutions, we are powering NCT’s smart industrial parks into fully integrated, future-ready hubs for businesses and communities. This is how we deliver on our aspiration to be a digital powerhouse by 2030, creating platforms that drive Malaysia’s digitalisation, sustainability and industrial growth.”
Yap said, “Our first undertaking with TM established a clear direction to redefine Malaysia’s industrial park landscape, with the goal to create a national model for smart, sustainable and digitally driven industrial growth. With this new collaboration, we expect to advance the progress made to-date and strategically extend the success of that model.”
NSIP is currently equipped with high-speed fibre connectivity, public 5G coverage, IoT-enabled networks, and an AI-powered security ecosystem with panoramic cameras, licence plate recognition, thermal imaging and real-time traffic monitoring.
The site is further supported by smart street lighting, traffic management, environmental sensors and a centralised Intelligent Operation Centre, alongside solar-ready factories and green technologies.
